“Iron Mike” Nazaruk had finished in 2nd place as a rookie in the 1951 Memorial Day Classic. For the 1954 Indianapolis 500^® his car owner, Lee Elkins, bought him a brand-new Kurtis Kraft KK500C. This Carousel 1 Kurtis Kraft is an eye-catcher. Like others before and since, Mike Nazaruk drove fast enough for a better finish, but poor pit stops dropped him from woulda-shoulda second to fifth place at the end. But the Kurtis Kraft 500C was beautiful, and so is this Carousel 1 replica.
